For more than 100 years the technological development of spark plug wires has evolved dramatically. Currently, there are a great variety of compositions for this product, ranging from copper conductors to synthetic fibers such as Kevlar ™ graphite. In the same manner, new and better jacket compositions like EPDM and Silicone that make the wire more durable in higher temperatures.

Of the most used spark plug wires in the American market we can find those made in:

– Simple EPDM extrusion (outer jacket) – Graphite / fiberglass conductor.

– Double extrusion EPDM (outer jacket) / EPDM (inner jacket) – Graphite conductor / Kevlar ™

– Double extrusion Silicone (outer jacket) / EPDM (inner jacket) – Graphite conductor / Kevlar ™

– Double extrusion Silicone (outer jacket) / EPS (inner jacket) – Graphite conductor / Kevlar ™

– Double extrusion Silicone (outer jacket) / Silicone (inner jacket) – Graphite driver / Kevlar ™

– Double extrusion Silicone (outer jacket) / Silicone (inner jacket) – Kevlar ™ conductor – wound (wire wound) / graphite

As for the cable diameters: 5mm, 7mm, 8mm, 8.5mm and 8.8mm are the most used, each with a variety of jacket colors to choose from.

Depending on the conductors used, cables may vary in resistance that in most cases range from 350 ohm per linear foot to 4500 ohm per linear foot.

With the assistance of the best factories in the market, DAY USA Inc. makes available the vast majority of existing spark plug wire components to the wire assembler.
